Three weeks ago I jumped at the chance to join in the fun and take up the Red Lipstick Dare issued by the gorgeous Andrea of Fox in Flats. Now, for me doing this was a no brainer. I'm currently loving bright and sassy shades of lipstick, anything from a hot Coral to a funky Candy Apple Red.
There's something about throwing on a shade of red lipstick that just makes an outfit complete. It's the perfect pick-me-up and confidence boost, and I always find that I receive more compliments on the days that I wear lipstick.
So anyway, where was I? Andrea's challenge was to wear red lipstick for a week, and to Instagram the results. Here's a few of mine that would have seen already if you follow @humbirdssong on Instagram...
Whenever I wear red lippy, I always make sure to keep my eye makeup understated, unless I'm heading out of course! I stick with neutral tones such as caramel and cinnamon, and finish off with eyeliner on the top lid. Mascara I can give or take- I find that it can irritate my eyes so I prefer to have my lashes tinted.
