You know how I have a thing for the whole 'reclaimed' furniture and interior style thing lately? Well, I found something that made my heart skip a 'lil beat and believe me, it was love at first sight.
Funnily enough, I had a voucher back from my 30th birthday for Vast Interior (yes, I can't believe it took me almost a whole year to spend it in one of my favourite stores) and my sister had also given me one for Christmas, so I combined the two and went to Vast January this year to see what they had.
And that's when I found it.
This gorgeous little shelf/cabinet had my name all over it, and once I paid for it it was placed in storage for around six months. Can you believe how happy I was when Deon came home with it to place back in our unit when we moved? And how happy I was to finally have a place to stash my coffee table books?
It's funny, I'm really feeling the whole teal-slash-turquoise-slash-aqua shades at the moment, so the fact that the cabinet had little hints of it through the wood made it even better. All that it needed was a glass fish bowl full of lilies on top and it was done.
Yeah, yeah, I know. It's just a shelf. So, because I love new pretty furniture, does that mean I'm definitely grown up and an adult now?
Anyway, it's perfect. Don't you just love when you find something that you feel is made for you?

I'm in love with that - great choice!
ReplyDeleteLovely! :)
ReplyDeleteIt's gorgeous! Most of our big 'investment' pieces are made from reclaimed oak. I just love the homely look of it. I am totes jealous of your artsy book collection, ps! x
ReplyDeleteAw, thanks! I'm a huge sucker for beautiful coffee table books, and I'm slowly but surely adding to my collection. The worst part though is that I buy them for friends for their birthday too, and I always want to keep them :P
ReplyDeleteThanks gorgeous! xx
