I was mentally going through what I needed to pack for the trip to Melbourne I was taking with my students next week, when I realised that I was in dire need of a new pair of Winter PJ's. I was all good for Summer ones, I happen to have a draw bursting with them but my poor Winter ones were lacking. Now, I'm not sure how this situation came to be about as I'm quite fond of my flannies, but I realised that Deon had thrown my fave pair of well worn PJ pants with the hole in the butt out in protest (he hated them) and the ones I was currently throwing on at night I wore back from when I had just had the Little Lion... so they were pretty sloppy and saggy.
This would not do.
So, I raced into Sussan's- my number one place to go for PJ's, and scooped up a gorgeous pair of soft flannelette pants in lilac, grey and white. Teamed with a long sleeved grey top and all was perfect.
I checked the weather on my phone, and little part of me died when I saw that Melbourne would greet us with showers and temps of around 14 or 15 degrees. Flashing lights and sirens went off in my head as I threw myself towards Target and straight to their Winter accessories. The Gods were smiling down on me as Target currently has a 40% off scarves, gloves and hats, so I picked up a super soft long scarf in biscuit and a pair of fingerless gloves. Yes, I am a sucker for fingerless gloves.
Now that the gloves, PJs and scarf situation is sorted, I'm off to stock up on some bed socks. Yep, my secret weapon in beating the cold is to wear two pairs of socks, one of them being bed socks- in my boots. Result- super toasty toes! Seriously, there is nothing worse than not being able to feel your toes due to the chill factor.
So lovely readers, I'm off with my students for the week so I'm leaving in the hands of some wonderful guest posters for the next five days. Please show them some love! They're keeping my little space nice and warm for me until I return. See you next Saturday!

Seriously! How good is Sussan for jambes. I love them. The only place to replace them x
ReplyDeleteI love Sussans for pjs too but also have a soft spot for Peter Alexander ones and Gingerlilly ones :) Why can't we wear pjs everywhere?!
ReplyDeleteOh, they're simply the best. *cranks up Tina Turner* 'Better than all the rest....'
ReplyDeleteWe don't have Peter Alexander or Gingerlilly! Wah! I know I can order online, but I was craving that rush of buying them and being able to take them home instantly ;)
ReplyDeleteI has been quite cold down this way however I do love the snugglyness of winter in Melbourne. Gotta love some winter accessories. Have fun, how long are you here for? And with how many students?
ReplyDeleteHi love! A colleague and I are taking 8 VCE students down for 4 days. It's going to fab, and won't even feel like work! It's an excuse for me to hits the shops too... :P
