I'm always slightly perplexed whenever I try to make the choice about what shampoo and conditioner I should be using. I mean, I have curly hair but want to straighten it, so should I go for the one one that promises silky smooth locks? Or should I be issuing it some tender loving care with a shampoo for damaged locks since I tend to blast it with heat on a constant basis? Or maybe even a colour care one considering it's bleached as hell too? Argh! The dilemma!
I sit there in that lovely fluro lit aisle for an eternity trying to choose not only the right 'fit' for my hair, but which scent and flavour (flavour? err, maybe not) appeals to me on the particular day. Maybe I'm a luscious berry girl. Or a tropical coconut girl. Or an apple and guava one. Too Many Choices!!
And then.... I took a plane to Queensland and totally forgot the shampoo and conditioner I had so carefully selected. I ended up using my sisters which was called Nature's Organics- a brand I had never heard of. I lathered, conditioned, dried and straightened... and fell in love.
This stuff is the bomb. Let me just say, this is not a sponsored post, I really do find this stuff to be all sorts of amazing! My hair is soft and silky with very minimal alfalfa happening at the front. (For those who don't know what that means, it's the short hairs that stick straight up when you straighten your hair. My students very lovingly point out that I have alfalfa all the time. Thanks cherubs.)
Nature's Organics is all sorts of good for you, and eliminates most of the baddies found in shampoos and conditioners. No parabens or petrochemicals (and yes, I'm pretending I know what that means). They claim it's a 'Natural Miracle' and now thanks to my smoothiness I'm inclined to believe them.
Now, I'm about to tell you the best part. Lalalalalaaaaaaa *the heavens parted*...this stuff is only about $3.50 per bottle. No joke. I know. Why the hell have I been spending so much on exxy haircare products in the past? RIDIC! I could have had about five more pairs of boots in my closet!
Just for a 'lil extra smoothiness, I slicked on a couple of drops of this slice of sweetness...
..Redken All Soft Argan Oil. I actually run a few drops of this through my damp hair then wrap a towel around it and leave it for about thirty minutes to an hour before drying. This has been a favourite of mine for a while now, and I don't mind shelling out a few dollars for a smoothing serum as it lasts for ages. I've had it for around a year now and look! It's still half full!
Oh look! Super awesome softness!
I'm hoping that by going organic, it may possibly help with the amount of breakage I have, and help it to grow. My poor hair cops a bit of a beating and I'm trying to show it a little bit of love now. And, for the last time, I just want to reiterate that I was not paid for this post, I just wanted to share something I found that worked for me. Now I'm going to have to try a few more of their products as I want to strip everything back and continue the organic theme... I think the face cleanser is next on my list!
