Lately I've had a few offers emailed to me of products to try and review, and for the most part the PR companies have been spot on when it comes to my taste and lifestyle. One that happened to be an absolutely perfect fit was a selection of gorgeous black patterned tights by DKNY.
Patterned tights? Tunics and black shorts? Only my favourite Winter combo EVER! *little dance of joy*
So, I happily collected a parcel and excitedly opened it to reveal an absolutely gorgeous package full of tights...
...and a surprise bottle of DKNY Pure perfume. It's vanilla. I die. I may have possibly mentioned before that vanilla is my fave Winter scent. Oh lovely DKNY, you know me well!

DKNY 'Pure'
I thought I'd have a bit of fun with this post and staged a 'fashion photoshoot' at work so my VCE Studio Arts kids could practice their photography skills. Feeling like a bit of a dork, I had Mason and Susan boss me around, pose me and snap like fashion photographers daaahhlink. (Smile! Look HAPPY! GIVE ME TIGER!)
How did they do? Fabulous job guys! (Shame about the model!)

DKNY 'Houndstooth'
These DKNY Houndstooth tights are so funky, and I loved teeming them up with a black and white striped 3/4 jumper, black tailored shorts and buckled black boots. I can also see myself wearing them with a black dress and peeptoe shoes to dress them up a bit.
The numbers for my next 'photoshoot' doubled in size as two more students, Britt and Nikky, decided to join in the fun. We traipsed through the dirt to an adorable little church near the school, the perfect location to compliment the outfit I had on that day. After swatting away a million flies and ducking from a huge white barn owl, here's the amazing shots my little protege's produced..

DKNY Floral 'Baroque'
The DKNY Baroque tights are both gorgeous and flirty, and I felt that they definitely needed my embellished satin skirt to compliment them. A black tee with ruffled sleeves, black ankle boots and a vintage butterfly necklace completed the outfit. The tights were sheer enough to let the beautiful embroidery shine, but not so light that they resembled the 'tattoo' tights.
We scoured the school for our next location, and discovered our troop was gaining in popularity as our numbers had swelled to six in total. I was after something slightly run down and urban (which is slightly hard in this is extremely small town) but we decided on a run down store front. Perfecto!
The DKNY Mod Plaid tights are a statement within themselves, and I wanted them to be the focal point of the outfit. I decided to team them with black tailored shorts, a loose black top by Sportsgirl and a pair of black ankle boots. A pair of aviators, an arm full of bangles and a necklace of brights beads and I was done!
All the tights I wore felt quite firm and strong which was excellent as I can't stand tights that develop runs after only a few wears. I can see myself wearing these tights multiple times this Winter, especially the Baroque ones which are my favourite!
And now, something super exciting for you! DKNY is coming to the party and giving away one lucky reader three pairs of tights! Woohoo! Included in the pack is a pair of Baroque tights, a pair of Mod Plaid tights and a pair of Opaque tights all in a size tall (which, trust me, will also fit if you're normally a size medium). If you think you'd love to win this (and really, who wouldn't?) all you need to do is answer the following question in the comments below..
What is your favourite Winter fashion item?
Entries open 7am Thursday April 12th and close 9pm Wednesday April 19th. The winner will be chosen by random and announced on my facebook page. The winner will then need to email me their postal address which I will forward on for them to receive their DKNY tights package. Good luck!

ReplyDeleteHey Rhi!
ReplyDeleteWell an answer to your question about my fav Winter fashion item is my Italian leather boots that I got at a market in Italy. The reason I love them so much is that they are comfy and they were bought in the town where my parents were from so I feel like I take a piece of them with me wherever I go. I look at those boots and I remember all sorts of experiences from my travels. Cannot wait to take my daughter there one day so she can get some memory boots of her own :) and I will buy another pair for me! :)
Mez, that's such a lovely answer! xx
ReplyDeleteWithout hesitation: scarf! I simply love scarves, they keep me warm and style my outfits!
ReplyDeleteOoooowww so many lush winter goodies to choose from, but my fav would have to be that great slouch metallic wooly beanie which can wear to brunch, champs lunch or a fun night out with the girls! And it doesn't give you hat hair!! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much gorgeous! x
ReplyDeleteI'm loving the way they style scarves on Nina's outfits in Offspring. Just gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteGreat shots from your students! Rhi must be a great teacher.
