Polly Dolly- Little Black Dress

So, I thought I'd have a little bit of fun with this theme. I'm not going the traditional black dress route, I've been inspired by Black Swan and I feel like dressing up in a gorgeous tutu. My creation...

Black accessories with a hint of plum in the eyeshadow to break it up. Since my thirtieth, I really, really want to dress up again. I wish I owned this tutu!

Little Lion Stuff.

So, it seems I've lost a little bit of my blogging mojo lately and my posts have been fairly heavily image based rather than text based. I've also let Baking Bliss slip the last two weeks due to a) sickness and b) a hangover so.... apologies my blogging friends. Order will be restored in the very near future!

Onto other things. I haven't talked about the Little Lion much lately, so I thought it was time for an update. As you're probably all very aware (and I'm sorry for continuing to repeat it, I feel like one of those mums from STFU Parents) Carter has allergies to wheat, egg, nuts, seafood and possibly dairy... we're not quite sure on that one. So, essentially, it feels like he's allergic to bloody everything sometimes.

Anyway, he also has a few hangups over food. He hates anything that's lumpy, and the only finger food he will touch is toast (made out of the special gluten, egg and dairy free bread mix I make him). He won't eat fruit unless it's apple puree. It seriously does my head in sometimes, but last night I felt like I had a mini win. I made chicken and apple balls with steamed pumpkin, broccoli carrot and sweet potato. Instead of pureeing everything, I mashed it with a fork. After some coaxing and a nose wrinkle at the start, he became more receptive and ate the whole bowl. Score!

As for me? I've recovered from my thirtieth and I'm hanging out for the school holidays where I can use my Endota Spa vouchers and bliss out for a couple of hours. Definitely looking forward to it. What are you looking forward to?

(Oh, and does anyone have any tips on getting toddlers to eat finger food? Do I just keep offering every meal? What sort of stuff can I give him that's doesn't contain dairy, egg, wheat, seafood or nuts? Help!!!)

Polly Dolly- Floral

I can't believe I forgot to post this! I've had it finished for a few days now. Anyway, this will be quick, as I'm about to head to bed.

I'm cheating a little today, as the theme was floral and it's safe to say that floral prints aren't exactly my favourite thing. So, I've got a cute singlet with a butterfly made up of flowers... that's floral, right?

Point and Shoot #31- The Big 3-0.

Ahh... Saturday night, how fantastic thee was. My thirtieth party with multiple pine/lime tequila slushies and a Cold Rock ice cream cake. For one night my little family consisted of G.I.Joe, Rainbow Brite and a mini Superman. Fabulous!

Quickly Dropping In!

Hello! I know I've been AWOL, but I've had a jam packed few days and I've barely had time to take a peek at Twitter, let alone compose a post. I'll go into more detail later, but I just quickly wanted say that Danimezza is just as adorable and gorgeous in person as she is in blogland. My gorgeous cyber twin, thank you so much for making the trip to come to my 30th. It meant the world to me ♥

A quick sneaky peak of me just before my 30th, after my makeup was done. Costume reveal to come!

Goodbye 20's, Hello 30's!

I remember being about 21 when I watched a particular Friends episode, the one where Rachel reuses to come out of her room because she was turning thirty. To me, thirty seemed old, and I could totally understand Rachel freaking out over it. I could imagine myself willing those clock hands to stop so I could remain in my twenties and be 'forever young'. I mean, who on earth would look forward to turning thirty and getting old? Even when I searched for images on Google I constantly came across ones like these:

Fabulous.

Nine years later, and it's my turn. And, you know what? I'm pleasantly surprised to discover that I'm relishing turning thirty, and that I truly believe that my thirties will be the best decade of my life so far. For me, my twenties was all about searching and discovering who I was exactly. I'm so content with all aspects of my life right now, and can't wait to celebrate with my friends and family on Saturday night.

Aren't thirties then new twenties anyway? Yay for turning 30 today!

Point and Shoot #30- Shoes and Sickness.

Saturday 19th March- 5pm - Bedroom

It's safe to say that I've had a pretty crappy weekend. I've come down with a nasty head cold, so I'm desperately trying every trick in the book to get rid of it as I really don't want to be sick for my 30th.

On Saturday I was stuck at the hairdressers for five hours as my regular girl was away, and they couldn't match the colour no matter how hard they tried. I know it's trivial, but I'm pretty upset at going from a honey blonde with highlights to a weird goldy orange with pink undertones. I was there so long that I only had thirty minutes to get ready for the wedding we were going to that afternoon. To top it all off? I was too sick for the reception. Ah well, at least I got to wear my new Wittner shoes for an hour.

I need to get back to the hairdressers so they can fix it before next Saturday. How on earth am I going to fit that in...

Baking Bliss Postponed.

Sorry guys, but I'll have to postpone Baking Bliss for now. Feeling waaaay too crappy to try whipping anything up today, I'll see how I go tomorrow! For now, an image of something that I'm craving:

Scones, jam and cream for afternoon tea. What could be better?

Beautiful Inspiration.

I've woken up feeling a little second rate due to the awful sniffles and a scratchy throat, but I'm hoping it clears up enough so I'll feel better for the wedding I'm attending this afternoon! Have a lovely weekend everyone xx
