So, it seems I've lost a little bit of my blogging mojo lately and my posts have been fairly heavily image based rather than text based. I've also let Baking Bliss slip the last two weeks due to a) sickness and b) a hangover so.... apologies my blogging friends. Order will be restored in the very near future!
Onto other things. I haven't talked about the Little Lion much lately, so I thought it was time for an update. As you're probably all very aware (and I'm sorry for continuing to repeat it, I feel like one of
those mums from
STFU Parents) Carter has allergies to wheat, egg, nuts, seafood and possibly dairy... we're not quite sure on that one. So, essentially, it feels like he's allergic to bloody everything sometimes.
Anyway, he also has a few hangups over food. He hates anything that's lumpy, and the only finger food he will touch is toast (made out of the special gluten, egg and dairy free bread mix I make him). He won't eat fruit unless it's apple puree. It seriously does my head in sometimes, but last night I felt like I had a mini win. I made chicken and apple balls with steamed pumpkin, broccoli carrot and sweet potato. Instead of pureeing everything, I mashed it with a fork. After some coaxing and a nose wrinkle at the start, he became more receptive and ate the whole bowl. Score!
As for me? I've recovered from my thirtieth and I'm hanging out for the school holidays where I can use my Endota Spa vouchers and bliss out for a couple of hours. Definitely looking forward to it. What are you looking forward to?
(Oh, and does anyone have any tips on getting toddlers to eat finger food? Do I just keep offering every meal? What sort of stuff can I give him that's doesn't contain dairy, egg, wheat, seafood or nuts? Help!!!)
