That Time of Bliss...

It's that time where you can simply sit, cocooned in your own quiet haven. An invisible blanket wrapping you tightly, where you can stop to collect yourself and focus purely on you. Just you. You can be selfish. You can drink a cup of tea without interruption, and watch a full episode of your favourite TV show without hitting stop once.

The feeling is one of absolute bliss.

However, that time, your time... it appears to run quite a lot quicker than normal time. From the moment your Little One goes to bed, clocks hands began to move at double the speed. The tighter you grasp it, the more it slips through your fingers as it creeps towards the deepest hour of the night.

It's time to retire to bed... but you just want a little bit more of that cocooned haven. You don't want to let it go just yet. Is it seriously time to give it up for a another night?

Just a tiny bit more...

You need to get up early. Super early. You have a long, long day and you know you'll come down crashing and burning without the required amount of sleep. While every second of solitude is bliss now, you know you'll be paying dearly for it the next day. Paying in spades with concentration, alertness and energy. If you don't go now, start kissing them goodbye...

With a sigh, you drag yourself up off, take one last look at the clock..... and leave your cocooned haven to return to the following night.

  1. So true, I find myself staying up late watching uninteruppted TV shows or reading blogs! Then I look at the clock and realise how late it is! xx

  2. I do so relate. My bedtimes are so late, as I just relish that uninterrupted time of doing as I please, the only deadline sleep.

  3. I agree Rhi when we get time to do whatever we like the time does go far fast, a bit like Sundays I think. Though we still must ensure we take our time as often as we can.

  4. I can so relate! Except my own cocooned haven is my bed. I love lying in bed late at night reading, watching tv or blogs on my iPad (like now). It's a blissful time & goes all too fast-which is why I stay awake far too late!

  5. I did it the night before. Stayed up longer and longer because I just loved that quiet time... and then paid for it dearly with a cranky toddler through the night and a 6am start! Won't stop me from doing it again though :P
