Best laid plans, and all that jazz....
Right now, the Little Lion and I were supposed to be situated in the West Coast in a house right on the beach. Suffice to say, that has not happened due to the Little Lion catching a fairly nasty cold, and being too sick to fly. What a bummer, right?
Well, turns out that it may have been a blessing in disguise. Apparently the weather over there is all sorts of rainy and miserable, so we'd be stuck inside staring out at the bleak ocean, wishing for sunshine. Secondly, it looks like we'll be going in September, which means that aforementioned sunshine and less time in between visits with the family. And thirdly? The best part? Mum has extended her stay for another week which means stacks of time spent curled up on the couch watching Project Runway, dark chocolate, tea and lots of grandma hugs for Carter. Bless.
To be honest, the thought of traveling today makes my blood curdle. It was Deon's birthday last night, and we had a BBQ with our nearest and dearest. My great idea was to start whipping up lime Margaritas, and although they were damn good I'm paying for it big time today. BIG TIME. Not only that, but Carter had the night from hell and at one stage I wanted to curl up in a corner and wish the world away. At 7:30am I crawled out, turned on my best friend (ABC2) and let Carter babble away happily to his cartoon mates while I lay comatose on the couch. Ouch. Ouch. Ouch.
But anyway, it's time for me to go to bed. Thank God for school holidays as I feel like tomorrow will be a day of me laying around the house in my PJ's while I try and catch up on some much needed sleep. Adios Amigos!
