Today I'm playing along with Mez at Day's Like These!
It's been quite a while since a movie captivated me so much that it's all could think of for days after, and that I became desperate to see it again. Normally it's theater productions that do this to me. After Jersey Boys, all I could hear was songs from the Four Seasons repeating themselves over and over... 'She-rry... Sherry baby!'
I saw Black Swan at the cinema recently. It messed with my mind.
Big Time.
The whole time, I was captivated by Natalie Portman's character, and her anxiety ridden performance where she spiralled down into her own psychosis riddled neurotic hell. Some scenes were brutal to watch, but I couldn't tear my eyes away.

However painful and ugly some of the moments throughout this movie may have been, there was always an underlying fragile beauty. The costumes, make up and dance itself was breathtaking. Mila Kuni's seductive Black Swan to Natalie Portman's delicate White Swan was the perfect ying and yang.
I need to watch this again. I want to take a closer look at the club scene where images flash up that give clues to Nina's unraveling. I'm considering buying the DVD from America because I simply can't wait for it to come out on DVD here.
Natalie Portman, you definitely deserved that gold statue!
