My Precious Carter- 7 Months

My Precious Carter,

Today, you are 7 months old.

Wow. Just... wow. I am amazed at just how much you've developed in one month. I think this has been your busiest month yet!

You are absolutely MOTORING along. All of a sudden, you seem to have discovered forward motion, and you're crawling everywhere! Every day you race off to the back door where you thump at the glass to get Nikita's attention. We've had to scurry around to hide all the cords and power leads, and if we've left a TV remote on the floor, you're the first one to grab it!

You love your food. I've been making all your purees for you now, and so far chicken and vegies is your favourite. You also love your yoghurt, and apple, peach and strawberry puree. You're such a wonderful little eater!

We've had four swimming lessons now, and you always have the biggest grin on your face and start babbling excitedly the moment we step foot in the water. You haven't gone underwater yet, but I think you'll be doing that next week.

You have such a zest for life, and are so alert. You're incredibly inquisitive, and will search all corners of the house to discover anything new. You love being outside and spending time with people. You went to a 30th birthday and a first birthday last weekend, and everyone kept commenting on just how happy and placid you are. I'm so proud of you.

Carter, you've bought so much love, laughter and joy into our lives. Grandad and Aunty Pan love talking to you on Skype. I can't really call you my little bunny anymore, you seem too big for that! So, from now on, you're my lion cub.

My little lion cub, I love you past the stars xx

Catch Up Time.

Once again, I apologise for the lack of postings in here. My life has been busy, busy, busy lately, and I find with amazement that the weeks are simply disappearing into thin air. How on earth did I get to Friday again? What happened to the other days?

  • Monday was a flurry of activity. Finished a painting for a client, collected more materials from Spotlight, and worked on more ideas for my new store. Pureed up a storm for Carter's meals, and the kitchen was covered in all sorts of fruit, vegies, chicken, fish and lentils. (So far chicken is a winner, fish is not. Will have to persevere with the fish in cheese sauce.)
  • Tuesday was spent creating the Culture Trip in Melbourne while at work. Many, many phone calls, scoring funding for students and booking events. Quite excited about this trip.
  • Wednesday was all about finalising the trip details. The best part- getting tickets to see Fame and tickets to the zoo to see the baby elephant.
  • Thursday included one of my favourite part of the weeks- swimming lessons with Carter! I miss him so much while I'm at work, so I always hang out for this time we have together. The rest of the day included the gym, spending time with mum, and doing housework.
  • Today- I'm kicking back and relaxing a bit. Just doing some housework, and spending time with Carter. We have a wedding tomorrow, which means Carter is sleeping over at his nan's for the first time. I hope it goes better than the last attempt!
Oh, and Lan, this is for you. Check out my eggling now!

Oliver's Blocks.

A big thank you to the lovely Danielle for showcasing my blocks on her blog. Through her I received an order for another set, and this time the theme was all things to do with firetrucks- in shades of red, yellow and navy.

I sent them off on Monday with a few nerves. I really hope she likes them, as it's the first time I've done a set for someone I didn't know. It's a little bit scary!

My Little Fish.

Carter and I definitely found our new favourite hobby last week.

To have Carter confident about swimming and an awareness of water safety is a huge priority for me. I enrolled him in 'Wonder One' classes every Thursday morning at Waves, and last week was our first lesson.

And it was SO MUCH FUN!

Carter was a natural in the water. He doggy paddled to his hearts content, laughed and shrieked with delight the whole time. I had to hold him super tightly as he was so wriggly! At the end of the lesson the instructor told me that he was 'definitely the swimmer of the group'. I was so proud of him! We can't wait for the next lesson!

Carter also hopes that Aunty Pan will be home for Easter so we can all go swimming.. we're keeping our fingers crossed!
