Oh. My.God. I can't believe it!
I started the Couch to 5K challenge five weeks ago now. Not only was I unfit, I hadn't actually run since high school and the thought of it was slightly daunting. Week One, and I was puffing at the end of a sixty second run and seriously doubting how I was going to continue with the challenge. Mum was here at the time, and she would push me out the door if I started to back out of each run.
Fast forward five weeks, and I am now running... Twenty.Minutes.Straight. I can't believe it. I set out tonight with the intention of repeating the 8 minute run/ 5 minute walk routine, but at the end of 8 minutes felt good enough to keep going. And going. I don't think I've ever run 20 minutes straight before, not on a treadmill or even during cross country practice at high school.
I'm thrilled. I'm getting fitter, leaner and my skin has never been better. I'm happy, and continuing to get that huge buzz at the end of each run. I know I can finish this challenge now.
Running is transforming me.
