Journal-Saturday May 22nd-6:45pm
My colleague-slash-long lost twin sister and I were chatting in the art room last Wednesday.
We should plan an exhibition I said.
Definitely she agreed.
I love my job as an art teacher. However, I think it's still important to be a practicing artist, to keep that hunger creating artworks alive. I haven't exhibited since 2006. I need to change that.
On the weekend I sketched. Little drawings that helped kick start ideas for themes. I found my inks. I adore ink, especially earthy tones. The boxes that contain the Winsor & Newton inks are beyond cute.
Photography. Photography transfers on paper, linen, canvas... inks, printmaking.. the possibilities are endless. It's going to take a while for me to make up my mind as to what to do.
